Or that time we all dressed up

By now, you’re probably used to us filling our Facebook page with party pictures once every few months. We know, we know, it’s probably less fun for you, but, you know, sharing is caring.

On the very last day of September, we had a party that differed from the ones we were used to. Instead of having an artistic moment, we decided to take matters into our own hands, and be the stars of the night. Therefore, we came up with a theme — Casino Night! And, to make things even more interesting, we had a set dress code, and recommended that everyone dress up accordingly.

09/30, 8PM, Alt Club, Timisoara, Romania. Programmers in suits, ties & bowties, pretty sparkly dresses and dangling earrings, entering the limited edition casino world, getting fun-money, playing chips and drinking prosecco & cocktails. Looking at everyone so immersed in the games, around the Black Jack and the Roulette table, I actually felt a warm and fuzzy feeling.

The event was a just-for-fun one, so we didn’t play for real money, but we felt so lucky just to be able to have such a party. And, as introspection kicked in, everyone in the team decided to raise some money for those who were not as fortunate as we were.

And that was exactly what we did. The stars of the night donated money for children in underprivileged families, who spent their days at the day centre ‘Casa Olarului’, supervised by the volunteers from the Timisoara branch of the ‘Ajungem Mari’ Foundation. The same wonderful children who spent a Saturday in our office, learning the basic principles of working in IT.

We’re very happy that we managed to raise almost 3,000 lei for them, and we were even happier to find out how impressed they were with our gesture. We even got a pretty painting in return. As I said, sharing is caring.
